Bára Hladík

ABOUT
Bára Hladík is a Registered Acupuncturist, writer, and researcher who has been involved in migrant, 2SLGBTQ+ and disability related research and advocacy for over a decade. She works as a communications specialist, copyeditor, researcher, policy maker and freelance writer, and has advocated for the rights of women, girls and gender-diverse people at the United Nations in Geneva. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia and a Diploma of Acupuncture from Royal Pacific Institute. She has presented at the University of British Columbia, Concordia University, and Columbia College.
Her book, New Infinity, was published by Metatron Press (2022) and was featured in Vancouver’s Poetry in Transit. Her book co-authored with Alina Senchenko, Behind the Curtain (Publication Studio, 2018), was an honourable mention for the Scorpion and Felix Prize (2018). Her work can be found in Briarpatch Magazine, Carte-Blanche, This Magazine, CV2, The Mainlander, Maisonneuve Magazine, Event Mag, Hamilton Arts and Letters, Empty Mirror, and more.
